Duch Gets Charged with Crimes Against Humanity

STATEMENT OF THE CO-INVESTIGATING JUDGES

Today, 31 July 2007, the Co-Investigating Judges of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia have charged KAING GUEK EAV alias DUCH for crimes against humanity and have placed him in provisional detention.

In a spirit of transparency, as of tomorrow the Order of Provisional Detention will be posted on the web site of the court.
